About a month ago I posted about a conference I submitted to (https://deviatefromnorm.wordpress.com/2024/02/14/a-glitch-in-the-system/). I got the e-mail that my proposal was accepted!!!
This is really exciting for me. One, it gives me something else to work on in addition to the dissertation (and will hopefully inspire more work on the dissertation). Two, I really feel like the theme of the conference has given me focus and clarity on so much, including Oracle.
I’m really hoping that what I put together for the conference can be turned around and made into a journal article fairly quickly. I really want to get something out there that reflects this focus. I’m still hoping to write a book about disability in superhero comics and have this be the basis for Oracle’s chapter. But I’ll find out how to make that work when the time comes.
First, I need to get this dang dissertation finished!
